For Grandad, who likes old stuff (just like him).
Thanks to Curtis' internet sluething, we found out that the museums in town are free on the first Sunday of the month! We made it to two of them.
The first was the natural history museum. I thought it was kind of boring but Curtis loved it and the kids did, too. "Oh look, a list of all the elements, and theyre in order by size!" Is an actual quote from Curtis. I made him pose next to it, and no it didn't say how they were organized, he just knew.
They had a botanical gardens outside and the literature from years ago showed it looking lush a beautiful but it was in such awful shape that I think myself alone could honestly improve it and I am no gardener. They also had a little carnival area for the kids nearby at the Jardin des Plantes.
We sat outside and ate baguettes like real french people. French ladies of every age and back ground enjoy not wearing bras to the park and everyone was lounging around.
Then we went to a free sculpture museum that is in an old convent that was finished in the 1300's. It was so pretty! It was one of the few places that had things geared to kids (the French do not appear to be child focused in the least). I can not stress this enough- the French love naked ladies. They celebrate them. Everywhere. Theyre pretty fond of nude men as well.
The kids were pretty worn out after this weekend! Curtis believes everyone should always "work through it" or "push through" if they are tired, be they wife or 3 year old! It was a fun time!

Myer is such a little stud!! He makes a handsome king!
ReplyDeleteBeckett wouldnt wear a costume. He also prefers we do our hugs and kisses before we get to the classroom :) he is all grown up! Luckily myer and abe still love a good costume!
DeleteIs that King Myer? And Abe the conqueror? And Beckett just being the good Big Brother?
ReplyDeleteBeck is way too old and cool now for such childish things. Abe and beck both seem to have really grown up aince we got here. Myer has not.
DeleteGlad Curtis got to see an element chart. Made the whole trip kind of worthwhile, I'd say.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was great to see curtis in his "element". Hahaha
ReplyDeleteLooks like M and would both love the Middle Ages(ny favorite time in history). He looks ready to rumble. Thanks for the pictures
ReplyDeleteI think this weekend we plan to rent a car and drive to a castle.
DeleteLooks like lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteWe can take you there if you want!
DeleteThe dinosaurs and fossils look cool and I'm glad the boys got to enjoy some kid focused entertainment! I just love all of the candid pictures of you and the boys... seeing this journey thru your eyes is beautiful! I have to give you major props on "pushing through" you are really good at it.. me.. not so much.
ReplyDeleteMy idea of me pushing through and the rest of the world's idea are probably not the same thing! Hahaha.
DeleteWell..you make it look pretty effortless either way! Hope you're having a great day!
