Coffee Morning

For Amber B., my dear friend that I met when our sons were in preschool together. Our lives are so blessed by yours and your two mens' presence. I love raising our sons at school and church together.
This morning my kids had a "coffee morning" at school and could wear costumes. I usually just go with the flow "oh yes, coffee morning " like I know what that is and I go to them all the time. Luckily Myer explained to me that meant the parents can stay and have coffee after school drop off or I would have totally missed it! I dont even drink coffee but how fun!
Just like at home, I love meeting the other parents at school. I think there are 12 different countries represented at the little school.
There is a French lady named Camille who works for the United Nations mapping and disabling land mines. I was in awe of her super interesting job and she said "Eh, it's a lot of paperwork." She has worked in South Africa, the Congo, Chad, so many interesting places.
I met a man named Steve from England whose wife is from Belgium and his daughters have grown up in Italy. His daughters are 4 and 6 and they know 4 languages. He took one of his daughters to a doctor because they thought something was emotionally wrong with her but the doctor said "No she is just passionate because she is an Italian." Hahaha. Steve said when his daughter speaks English she holds her arms down by her side when she talks and when she speaks Italians she holds them up and swings them around with passion.
There are a group of Indian ladies that are very nice and I talk to a lot (all of the English speakers gravitate towards each other). One has a master's degree in yoga and is going to give me some yoga lessons for $10 for an hour and a half lesson.  I told her I am not very calm and she should charge me more.
There is a Dutch lady who grew up in France but with Dutch parents her name is Annalynn and I think that is so pretty. Her aunt lives in Dallas. I was lamenting all the things I don't have in France (retangular pillows, clothes dryers, automatic cars) and she assured me all of those things, if you know where to look, you can find in France. I said "What about top sheets?" After a brief silence she said "Why do you need a top sheet? Don't you have a comforter?" I just like top sheets, Dutchy lady. France doesn't know what they're missing.
The weather has turned to perfection here and the kids are out of school for the next two weeks. It was a fun morning.

  1. Great pics, especially M's medieval knight look! Sounds like the people of France are a lot like the people of many countries. Thankfully WWII turned out the way it did! Many people from Germany?
