For Rachel K.E., I wish you were here to explain the art history to me! Plus, I've been to France with you before and you didn't kill me, so I figure you can put up with me better than most.
Today we took Memaw and Aunt Laura to a fancy art museum that is about a block away from the apartment. Myer said he "loved old art" to which Beckett replied "You only do 'cause they're naked." Oh, goodness gracious, what have I gotten into with this parenting thing?
We saw art by Degas, Matisse, Cezanne and even several Picassos! My very favorite art has always been French Impressionism and my favorite artist of all time in Monet and I'm kicking myself because the Monet went on loan 4 days ago :( I can't believe I missed it!
One of my favorite parts was the velvet wall paper. Gotta find a way to get some of that in a room at our new house.
You do not know panic and sheer terror until you take your 3 unruly young boys with dirty, sticky fingers into a room full of priceless French paintings.
It was a very interesting museum. The art and the building. I love the buildings here. Tomorrow Sandra and I are going on an excursion to a castle. We will ride the metro and a train. Will be an experience. I'm looking forward to it.
